My Story
When I started learning networking in 2020, I began with the fundamentals. I spent time understanding how networks actually work β from IP addressing and subnetting to routers, switches and troubleshooting.
At first, many concepts felt overwhelming. There were times when a small configuration mistake could break an entire connection. I remember spending hours trying to figure out why something was not working, only to discover a simple issue that I had overlooked. But those moments were valuable. Every problem I solved taught me something new. Every mistake helped me think more like a network engineer.
Over time, I learned that networking is not about memorizing commands. It is about understanding the technology, analyzing problems and creating solutions.

Why I Chose Networking
Technology has always been about connection. Behind every online platform, business system and digital service, there is a network making communication possible.
That is what I enjoy about networking. I like the challenge of taking a problem, understanding what is happening behind the scenes and finding a solution that makes the system work better.
Whether it is improving connectivity, troubleshooting issues or designing a reliable network environment, I enjoy the process of making technology work smoothly.

How I Test Networking Products
When I review a modem, router or any networking equipment, my goal is simple: I want to know how it performs in the real world β not just what the specifications say on the box. Most of the products I test are purchased with my own money. I believe buying the equipment myself gives me the freedom to test it honestly, without any expectations or pressure from manufacturers. If a product has problems, I want to be able to talk about those problems openly.
From time to time, companies do send me products to test. I appreciate the opportunity to get early access to new technology, but receiving a product does not guarantee a positive review. Every device goes through the same process.
Real-World Testing Matters
Networking equipment is something people depend on every day. A poor router can affect everything β video calls, gaming, streaming, smart home devices and work productivity.
That is why I focus on practical experience rather than simply repeating manufacturer claims. My reviews are based on actual testing, observations and long-term use whenever possible. The goal is not to tell you what a company wants you to hear. The goal is to help you understand whether a product is actually worth your time and money.

How We Test Networking Devices
Every product follows a structured testing process before we share our findings. We look beyond marketing claims and focus on the things that matter most to users: stable connections, reliable performance, easy setup, and consistent results over time.
A modem should not only look good on a specification sheet. It should work well when people depend on it every day. Whether someone needs stronger Wi-Fi coverage at home, a reliable connection for remote work, or better networking performance for a growing business, our mission is to provide useful and honest guidance.
Technology changes quickly, but our approach stays the same β test carefully, explain clearly, and help people choose networking equipment with confidence.
Testing Process
Testing a router or modem is more than simply plugging it in and checking if the internet works.
We look at the complete experience:

Transparency Comes First
I do not believe every product needs to be perfect. Every device has strengths and weaknesses. A good review should explain both. If something works well, I will explain why. If something has limitations, I will point those out too. At the end of the day, my job is not to promote products. My job is to help people make better technology decisions based on real experience.
My Home Network Setup
I get asked this question quite a lot: βWhat internet setup do you use at home?β
People are usually curious because I spend a lot of my time testing modems, routers, and other networking equipment. Some assume that my home must look like a small data center with expensive hardware everywhere. It really does not. My setup is actually pretty normal. The difference is that I pay more attention to the small details because I work with networking products every day.
Over the years, I have learned something simple: the best network is not always the one with the highest speed or the most expensive equipment.
It is the one that works when you need it. A dropped connection during a video call, slow WiFi in another room, or random disconnects from smart devices are the things that matter most in everyday life. That is what I focus on when building my own network.
My Internet Connection
Provider: Xfinity
Plan: Xfinity Gigabit Extra
Speed: Up to 1.2 Gbps download / 35 Mbps upload
I currently use Xfinity Gigabit Extra for my home connection. The main reason is not that I constantly need gigabit speeds. Honestly, most daily activities do not require that much bandwidth. Streaming, browsing, emails, and normal work can run perfectly fine on much slower plans.
The reason I prefer having more bandwidth is that my network is not only used for personal activities. I regularly connect different routers, modems, and networking devices while testing them.
Some days I might have several devices running at once, downloading files, running speed tests, or comparing different setups. Having extra capacity simply gives me more room to work.
The Modem I Use
ARRIS SURFboard S33 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem The modem is probably the most forgotten part of a home network. Most people immediately think about upgrading their router when they have WiFi problems. Sometimes the router is the issue, but sometimes the problem starts much earlier.
The modem is the bridge between your home and your internet provider. If that connection is unstable, everything connected behind it will suffer. I have tested different cable modems over the years, and the ARRIS SURFboard S33 is one that I continue to trust.
What I like about it is not a long list of features. It is simply dependable. It supports DOCSIS 3.1, works with many major cable providers, and has handled my connection without giving me unnecessary problems.
For me, that matters more than having extra features I will probably never use. A modem should do its job quietly in the background.
The Router I Use
ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 WiFi 6 Router My current router is the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000. I have tested many routers, and one thing I have noticed is that choosing a router is not just about speed ratings.
A router can have impressive specifications, but if the coverage is poor or the connection becomes unstable when multiple devices are connected, those numbers do not mean much. I like the GT-AX6000 because it gives me a good balance between performance and control.
The things I personally appreciate:
- Reliable WiFi 6 performance
- Strong coverage around my home
- Handles many connected devices well
- Useful settings for testing and troubleshooting
- Good security options
Would I recommend this router to everyone? Probably not. For someone living in a small apartment with a few devices, this would likely be more than necessary. A good mid-range WiFi 6 router can provide an excellent experience for many people.
The right equipment depends on how you actually use your network.
